Entrance Assessments

GRADES 6-12
 
The Entrance Assessment begins with a 30-minute handwritten essay. Next, students will complete a MAPS standarized assessment, which includes 20 self-paced Math questions and 20 self-paced Reading questions, on a provided device. This MAPS standarized assessment is the same test used to benchmark current Linfield Christian students. To learn more about MAPS, visit the MAPS Family Toolkit and take a practice test.
 
The average completion time is 90 minutes, but it varies from student to student and may take up to 120 minutes. All materials are provided. Assessments are conducted in small groups. During the admissions season, you can sign up for an assessment via your Application Checklist in the Admissions and Enrollment system (Finalsite). Group Tours are often offered 1 hour before most assessments. Please sign up through Finalsite or contact our office at 951-676-8111 ext. 1400. Click here to learn more about campus tours.
 
Note: Phones and other personal devices are not permitted on the test; we advise students to leave these with their parent. If they bring it to the assessment, the proctor will collect it for the duration of the assessment.

GRADE 1
 
The Entrance Assessment is conducted 1:1 with a Linfield Elementary School faculty member. The assessment evaluates students on reading, math, and other rudimentary concepts as well as social skills. The average completion time is 60 minutes. All materials are provided. The assessment takes place in the Administration Office.


TK & KINDERGARTEN
 
The Entrance Assessment evaluates the student through the completion of five separate stations, and it is led by several Linfield Elementary School faculty members. The assessment evaluates students on the alphabet, early math concepts, fine & gross motor skills, social skills, and other rudimentary concepts. The average completion time is 60 minutes. All materials are provided. The assessment takes place in the Gymnasium.
 
Parents/guardians are required to be present at the assessment to interview with an Administrator. This will also be an opportunity for the parents/guardians to ask the Administrator any questions.
